Whitpain man sentenced for beating and killing his girlfriend’s cat

Michael William Baker Jr., 41, of Whitpain Township has been sentenced 2-6 years in prison for beating and killing his girlfriend’s cat.

According to The Reporter, Baker pleaded no contest to a felony charge of aggravated cruelty stemming from a September 19, 2022 incident during which his girlfriend’s cat “Jinx” died.

The cat’s owner told police she observed Baker throw the cat down the stairs inside the home and then throw the cat against the wall outside. The woman reported she found the cat dead on the porch and called 911.
