On June 1st, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Spring House for a new Spring House Village Shopping Center. The shopping center is slated to include a Whole Foods and a CVS, among other tenants. The Whole Foods is expected to open in May of 2017.

The original center built in the late 1960’s has few tenants, but those that remain (Starbucks, Arpeggio and Glam) will move to a building already under construction.

Construction will be phased, and after their relocation, slated for late 2016, the building they are in now will be razed and rebuilt. The new shopping center will comprise approximately 20 retail stores in total and should be completed by June 2017…

 

The shopping center is 80 percent pre-leased and discussions with potential tenants are ongoing, officials said. Among others already signed on are Pancheros, PetValu and Severino Homemade Pasta.

This will be a “relocated” Whole Foods and while it’s not official, our sources say that the North Wales location is the store on the move.
