In addition to the Code Red ( see previous article), The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for today, June 30th.
The DEP advises:
“A strong ridge of high pressure centered over the eastern U.S. will promote sunshine, light southwesterly winds and temperatures rising into the mid-90s.” This will result in ozone levels rising to the Code Orange range.”
“…young children, the elderly and those with respiratory problems, such as asthma, emphysema and bronchitis, are especially vulnerable to the effects of air pollution and should limit outdoor activities.”
