National Weather Service Update – 5:00 PM

The National Weather service issued a brief at 5 pm with information regarding the blizzard. Here is what we know –

The storm is going to continue into the night with gradual improvement as the storm moves out to sea. We can expect an additional 4 to 8 inches of snow overnight with a gradual abatement toward daybreak.

In the Ambler area we can expect gusts of wind of up to 40 m.p.h throughout the night, abating at around 7 am Sunday morning.

Due to the dry condition of the snow and the high winds, we can expect blowing and drifting throughout the evening and overnight.

Sunday will be dry and temperatures will reach the low to mid 30’s, This will cause melting and ponding which will freeze overnight into Monday. This freeze will result in less than suitable driving conditions for the Monday morning commute.

Stay warm and stay safe!
