Rep Dean draws full house to town hall meeting in Blue Bell, talks Trump, Musk, immigration, tariffs, impeachment

Congresswoman Madeleine Dean of Glenside held a town hall in Blue Bell on Thursday, April 17 to listen to constituent concerns.

Topics included the Trump administration’s policies on immigration, tariffs, and the federal bureaucracy. Dean responded to questions on Democratic messaging failures and whether President Trump could be impeached if his administration defies court orders.

According to Kenny Cooper, a WHYY reporter and Cheltenham High School graduate, the town hall “lambasted President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk’s actions to reshape the federal government.”

A Dresher resident asked Dean what she and other Democrats are doing to combat the Trump administration’s initiatives, to which Dean replied, “We have to use every device we possibly can” as the President may “declare martial law” and “try to run for a third term”.

According to Dean, 10,000 constituents have called her office with concerns, and 12,000 people joined the telephone town halls since Trump’s inauguration.

On Tuesday, she shared a response to the Trump administration’s handling of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a 29-year-old from El Salvador who was deported from the U.S. in March, which she called “a dangerous precedent.”
