Twisters has announced it will be closing its location at 131 East Butler Avenue in downtown Ambler on June 15th. Its pilates annex in Ambler and its group class location in Erdenheim will remain open. Twisters has operated at the 131 East Butler Avenue location for 12 years.

In a Facebook post and in an email to AroundAmbler.com, the reason for closing the this location was due to a declining client-base, which was blamed on “disturbances” from the construction of the brewery on the first below (below Twisters) and now its operation.

Below is the full statement from Twisters (please note it includes details on where you can continue to take classes with Twisters, utilize existing packages, etc):

Effective June 15th Twisters will be consolidating its group class schedules (Yoga, Barre and Mat Pilates) to our Erdenheim location. We will be closing our Ambler location on the second floor of 131 E. Butler Ave. on that date. The Twisters Pilates Annex will remain open and operate on its normal schedule for Reformer semi-private classes as well as privates.

This spring marked the 12th anniversary of our group classes in Ambler. Unfortunately, our client base has diminished over the past year due to disturbances related to 10+ months of construction in the building and 2 months of operation from the new restaurant/pub below our studios. The result is that the business can no longer support the costs to operate in this location. However, the Twisters Erdenheim Center and the Twisters Pilates Annex are doing just fine. In fact, Erdenheim’s class schedule will be expanding in June. We will be migrating many of your favorite Ambler classes and teachers to this location. A preview of this new and expanded schedule in Erdenheim will be emailed this weekend for clients to review.

While it is our hope that everyone will continue doing group classes with us in Erdenheim, we understand that for some this location may be too far away to practice there regularly. These next 30 days are an opportunity for our Ambler-only clients to use up their remaining visit packages. Additionally, we are happy to extend any near-term expiration dates through the end of this year for those that have visits remaining after this 30 day period. This should give everyone ample time to use the rest of their visits in Erdenheim on an ad hoc basis that is convenient for their schedule. Members who primarily attend Ambler location classes will have the opportunity to terminate their memberships early without a cancellation fee (if applicable). Please notify us of your termination preference as soon as possible prior to your next monthly billing date.
