The 40th Annual Upper Dublin Medals Program has announced the medal recipients for this year.
The Program recognizes outstanding community members in the following categories:
- Citizen
- Educator
- Community Business or Non-profit Organization
- Student Leadership Award (2)
To be considered, candidates are nominated through a nomination process and must meet the designated criteria.
A ceremony on behalf of the Program was held on May 15, during which the following winners were honored: From left, Gene McGonagle, Ambler Flower Shop, Outstanding Business; Daniel Ortiz, Outstanding Educator, Sandy Run Middle School Principal; Art Levinowitz, Outstanding Citizen, retired Upper Dublin School Board member; Gus Platt and Julia Axler, Outstanding Senior Students.
The ceremony was attended by 140 community members, previous medal recipients, local officials and business owners.
The annual program is presented by Upper Dublin Township, Upper Dublin School District and Upper Dublin Education Foundation, which benefits from event proceeds.
