Ambler Borough Committee Meeting Tonight

There is an Ambler Borough Committee meeting tonight at 7pm at the Borough Hall, the public is welcome to attend.  Some things being discussed at tonight’s meeting include:

Public Safety Committee:

St. Mary’s Development – The Borough has submitted a letter to PennDOT with documentation supporting a signal being warranted. With the future construction of the St. Mary’s Villa project, the Borough requests PennDOT  reconsider having the St. Mary’s Villa project install this signal at Bethlehem and Lindenwold as part of their Highway Occupancy Permit.

Traffic Calming- A request was received to discuss alternate solutions to the Borough speeding issues and traffic calming options.

Public Utilities Committee:

Water Authority- A meeting was held with the Harrisburg attorney to discuss forming a Water Authority.

Finance and Planning Committee:

Professional Services RFQs- Qualifications from professional services ( Solicitor, Municipal Engineer, Wastewater Treatment Plant Engineer and Building Inspector) were received.  The committee is reviewing the submittals. RFP submittals were received for Auditor.

Wissahickon Valley Historical Society- The WVHS would like to make a brief presentation on October 16 to the Council on their vision for the Historical Society.

Parks & Recreation Committee:

Tinkergarten Event- Tinkergarten would like to host a latern walk around daylight savings time ( this year it would be Sunday, November 4) Families gather at dusk, light lanterns ( tea lights or LED lights provided) sing songs and enjoy a walk in Ricciardi Park.

Salary and Personnel Committee:

Environmental Advisory Council- A vacancy exists on the Environmental Advisory Council.  Interested residents should forward a letter of interest/resume to the attention of the Borough Manager. manager@borough.ambler.pa.us

Police Department Testing – Testing for a new patrolman will be scheduled
