Ambler Borough Police Briefs | May 7

VANDALISM – juvenile from the 100 block of North Street was detained for vandalism after police responded to a call of a juvenile damaging property at Ricciardi Park on March 29. Officers arrived on scene and found two trees damaged by spray paint. Witnesses described the juvenile. After officers checked the area he was located at Ambler Park. Once all information was collected he was transported to his residents and released to his parents. Charges are pending…

THEFT – On April 8th a resident in the 200 block of E. Park Avenue reported theft from her vehicle. Her vehicle was parked in front of her home overnight and when she returned there where items taken. The value of the items is not determined at this time. The vehicle was not locked at the time the items were taken.

VANDALISM – On April 8th a resident in the unit block of Orange Avenue reported that her vehicle was vandalized by someone putting something in the gas tank.

FRAUD – A victim in the unit block of E. Butler Avenue reported that she was scammed out of $790.00.  On April 12th, a person claimed they were a PECO employee and threatens to disconnect her electric if the pass bill was not payed. She was instructed to purchase 2 money packs for $395.00. Once the money packs where brought and the number was called in, the caller wanted more money. The call was discontinued and PECO was called. The first call was determined to be a scam.

THEFT – On April 18th, a resident in the 100 block of Park Avenue reported that someone stole her daughters’ purple & black Huffy bicycle off her front porch. The bike is described as a purple Huffy with black details and a bright orange & black seat. The value of the bike is unknown at this time.

THEFT – Ambler Borough worker reported while on the job at 51 E. Butler Avenue he was checking meters and found one to be missing on April 25th. The construction workers on sight at that location had to remove it the meter for repairs however, the meter went missing and is unable to be located. The theft of the meter is ongoing…
