As part of Operation Clean Sweep, the police departments of Ambler, Lower Gwynedd, Upper Dublin and Whitpain are joining forces to collect cleaning supplies to donate to the Mattie Dixon Food Cupboard. The items will then be distributed to needy families who may not be able to afford them otherwise.
From the Ambler Gazette:
In addition to collecting supplies at the township building, the police plan to do a promotional day for the drive at the Giant food market on a weekend day…The date has not been selected yet, but the plan is to bring a police cruiser to the market and ask customers to help fill the vehicle with cleaning supplies…
Residents are asked to help by donating supplies by April 25 at any of the four police departments, where collection sites have been set up in the lobbies.
Suggested supplies include: glass cleaner (Windex), floor cleaner (Pine-Sol), bathroom cleaner (Comet or Scrubbing Bubbles), everyday cleaner (Lysol or Clorox wipes), toilet cleaner (Lysol Bowl or Clorox Bowl), paper towels, brooms, dust pans, mops, buckets and toilet brushes
