Farmers market on agenda for Lower Gwynedd’s Zoning Hearing Board

On the January 13th agenda for Lower Gwynedd Township’s Zoning Hearing Board is an application for a farmers market planning to open at 900 North Bethlehem Pike in Spring House (Lower Gwynedd). This location was most recently home to Andy’s Diner and before that the Drafting Room and Dori Ristorante.

The question before the zoning board isn’t whether a market can operate at that location, but whether the signage for the property can exceed what is allowed within the zoning code.

From the township’s January newsletter:

900 North Bethlehem Pk: D-Business District; Applicant seeks variance to permit three signs and a total signage area exceeding 40 square feet; and to permit signage higher than applicable building height limitations and higher than actual building upon which it is located; and any other relief deemed necessary for the signage at a new retail sales and farmers market located on this property. Applicant requested a continuance, hearing was rescheduled from December.

The agenda is not yet available, so we do not know who the applicant is. It should be available by January 12th.
