Grand Send-Off for Beloved Principal of St. Helena School

It seems as though the entire Whitpain Township community was involved in the grand send-off and retirement celebration that honored Sr. Cathe Shoulberg, principal of St. Helena School in Blue Bell.  Thanks to the Whitpain Police Department, Sr. Cathe arrived at her celebration on Tuesday in a secret service style escort and was welcomed by the school community, special guests and all of the students wearing commemorative Sr. Cathe tee shirts.

There were special speakers and guests in attendance, including PA State Representative Kate Harper, Whitpain Township Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Adam Zucker, Chief of Police Ken Lawson, Center Square Fire Chief Lee Miller, Jen Lynch (President) and Jenn Guarnaccia (Vice President) of Saint Helena Home and School Board, Judy Sweeney (Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools Archdiocese of Philadelphia), teacher Steve Smith, the Elmwood Park Zoo and Al Zone who provided the entertainment, and the Starbuck’s baristas, Jeannie Harrington and BettyAnne Szotak who prepare Sister Cathe’s morning coffee each day.

Sr. Cathe has dedicated her service to her church and it’s community for 51 years, and has served as principal of St. Helena School for the last 30 of those years, having a tremendous influence on the lives of all of the students, their families, faculty and co-workers along the way.
