Pandas to Find New Home in Ambler

In a move being described as unprecedented in the international wildlife community, the World Wildlife Federation (WWF) recently named Ambler Borough as America’s first municipal outdoor Giant Panda refuge. Citing the vast amount of bamboo present in Ambler, the WWF found choosing Ambler an obvious choice after first considering Bear, Delaware as a landing spot.
“With such an abundant amount of the panda’s natural food source, Ambler presented itself as the perfect place for the hundreds of rescued Pandas unable to make it in the wild, said WWF spokesman Ima Joker. Along with the restaurants, hair salons and asbestos, nothing is more synonymous with Ambler than bamboo”.
Ambler residents can expect the pandas to arrive sometime in the fall. In preparation for their arrival, Ambler residents are being asked to paint as many of their outdoor facades black and white in order to provide camouflage for the majestic beasts.
For those with questions, there is a meeting scheduled at Ambler Borough Hall on Wednesday, April 4th at 7:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring hollowed-out logs or stumps of conifer trees for inspection as possible panda dens. Residents offering dens to pandas will be required to pay an annual inspection fee of $25.
