Spraying for mosquitoes scheduled for portion of Whitpain Township on September 19th

The Montgomery County Department of Health & Human Services Office of Public Health, after consulting with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and Whitpain Township officials, will be spraying or adulticiding to control the adult mosquito population in an area north of Swede Road and Dekalb Pike, east of West Township Line Road, south of Erbs Mill Road and west of Yost Road. The spraying will be done where sampling by the county and state has shown mosquitoes that carry the West Nile Virus.

The spraying is schedled for Tuesday, September 19th from approximately 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. If there is inclement weather, the the alternate date will be Thursday, September 21st.

All areas within the highlighted sections of the above map will be subjected to the spray. Residents within the spray area are advised to remain indoors, close windows, and turn off ventilation systems that draw-in outside air for the duration of the spray plus 30 minutes after.

Workers will be using Duet Duel-action Adulticide at a rate of 0.75 fluid ounces per acre applied with a truck mounted Ultra Low Volume sprayer. The spray will be performed by county personnel.
