Upper Dublin’s Field Of Dreams Future Still Unknown

Parents, students and residents came out in droves last night to be heard at the Upper Dublin School Board meeting regarding their beloved “Field of Dreams”.  6ABC was there live last night to cover this controversial issue.

The Field of Dreams was created in 1995 for various, local athletic groups, community groups and residents of Upper Dublin Township, now there is a proposal to covert this athletic field to a bus depot and parking lot.

Many opposed to this proposed plan say it will bring more traffic and a considerable amount of pollution into the area, especially since the field sits only a few hundred yards away from the high school, an elementary school and the township building.

There are many residents who support paving over the field and look at it as a reasonable location for the new school bus depot and garage. Steven Yanni, Upper Dublin’s new school Superintendent says there are other locations also being considered, and  there was no decision made at last night’s School Board meeting. A final decision on this will not be made until the end of this year.
