Wissahickon School Board Approves New Shady Grove Elementary Principal

The Wissahickon Board of School Directors approved the appointment of Mr. Jason Bialka as the new principal of Shady Grove Elementary on June 17th.

Mr. Bialka has served as Assistant Principal at Wissahickon High School since 2017 (during which time he also served as the district’s “School Safety and Security Coordinator”), and was a Wissahickon Middle School English and Gifted teacher for 9 years prior to that (during which time he was both the cross country coach and the newspaper advisor).

Prior to coming to Wissahickon, Mr. Bialka taught in Quincy, MA, and Plainfield, IL.  His Bachelor of Arts degree is from Eastern Illinois University and his Master of Education degree is from Cabrini University.
“Shady Grove Elementary School will be in good hands under the leadership of Mr. Bialka, who understands the importance of relationship building with students, staff and families and who always approaches his job with a ‘students first’ mindset,” said Dr. James Crisfield, WSD Superintendent.

Mr. Bialka, who is replacing Dr. Toby Albanese, will officially begin his position on July 1, 2019.
