Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association Demonstrates How Trees are Tapped for Annual Maple Sugaring Festival

The Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association is preparing and the trees are being tapped for their annual Maple Sugaring Festival on February 10th from 12-3pm. Take a look at the video below to see the tapping process.

Participants take a guided walk along the Green Ribbon Trail at WVWA’s Four Mills Reserve to learn the process of making maple syrup – from tree to table. This program introduces people to the process of creating maple syrup, a uniquely North American sugar crop. Trained guides take small groups through the woods to see the tapped trees and then watch it being boiled into sugar.

This event is perfect for all ages and participants end the tour with hot chocolate and waffles (with syrup!) at the historic Four Mills Barn.
