Our Lady of Mercy Regional Catholic School in Maple Glen invite the parents and community neighbors to the first in a series of speakers that address student safety issues involving both physical and mental health. The first speaker series is titled, “Helping Our Children and Adolescents with Anxiety.” Ms. Jessica Paist, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist from the Center for Family Empowerment, will lead the talk about how anxiety can present itself in many different ways with children. A question and answer session will follow. “As educators it is our responsibility to support the families of students both intellectually and emotionally and we welcome the community to join us for our inaugural speaker series. Ms. Paist, is highly regarded as an expert is this field and we are excited that she will speak on this important topic that affect so many students today “said Mr. John C. McGrath, Principal at Our Lady of Mercy. Jessica Paist earned her Master’s degree form LaSalle University and is the owner and clinical director of The Center for Family Empowerment in Jenkintown. She offers individual, group and family counseling sessions as well as a group for coping skills for all ages.
